| A visit to Leon | |
From Astorga we get to Leon through the 120 National Road. Once there, we can admire its gardens with great walking ways, squares with their monuments and fountains. Leon is a historic city but modern at the same time. We need to visit the Cathedral, the most beautiful one in the Spanish Gothic. Curiosities about the "Pulchra Leonina", museums and the rest of the things in the Cathedral will be explained through a guided route. The Real Basilica de Saint Isidoro of Romanic Art, Saint Marcos' Convent of the Renaissance (nowadays a luxurious National Parador), noble palaces, churches and convents can be visited as well. In the "Barrio Húmedo" in the old part of the city, we can find several bars and mesons to taste a good variety of the cuisine from León. |
